Smart/micro-grids will be the most important energy development of the 21st century. This course is an overview of the basis for creating a comprehensive design and performance assessment program to effectively rate microgrids and the bulk power system that supplies microgrids in terms of customer engagement, operational efficiency, reliability, and energy efficiency. The course   details smart systems as they are applied to multiple suppliers and multiple demanders within close proximity. Microgrid technology is compared to centralized power plants in developed economies and undeveloped economies alike.
