This is an eight week accelerated course. Intelligent Lighting Systems is a course set up to provide information on cutting edge lighting technology and controls. There is a review of lighting concepts followed by an IES (Illuminating Engineers Society) controls course, discussion on controls and protocols, and hands on programming / adjustment of existing lighting control systems. Current technology and the future direction of lighting will be discussed. Lighting Controls will be emphasized, including state-of-the-art wireless controls accessed through the internet. The course will also cover daylighting controls, scheduling and occupancy. Student must be comfortable with using a computer, spreadsheets, word processors and able learn new software (as needed for controls).
