Energy Project Management

This course introduces you to project management principles with special emphasis on energy related systems. Project management requires analytical and mathematical skills to carefully control and execute projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. In addition to solving problems in class, we will learn software that is used in industry worldwide to manage projects – MS Project. This software tool will be an integral part of the course. The course will emphasize class participation, homework assignments, team projects, and learning by doing.

Examples will include projects from various areas of the energy industry. We will discuss project management cases from electric utility industry, commissioning process for power plants, off and on shore oil and gas development projects, and others.
