Introduction to Building Construction and Energy at the Energy Innovation Center

The first class offered at the EIC is an introduction to the Energy Innovation Center (EIC) as a construction site. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the building as it is being constructed and interact with the people working on the site.

Trades people, the project manager, an architect, an engineer and others involved with the construction of the building will give a brief overview of what they do and answer students’ questions about their job. The Energy Innovation Center personnel will be conducting the class and will present the mission of the EIC and the importance of energy, sustainability and technology in current and future occupations.

The class is scheduled to take place on the first day of summer, June 21, 2013, from 10:00 to 12:00, followed by pizza and soft drinks and will run for 6 weeks. For more information call Jessica Lee at 412-480-6959 or Joe Jacobsen at 414-418-6642.
